Hiring Process

Our Recruitment Framework

Our hiring framework is an extension of our performance and people culture: fast, transparent, and built on mutual respect. We evaluate not just your technical capability, but your systemic alignment with our values of Trust, Drive, and Impact. On average, candidates move through 5-6 stages covering the areas below:

Application Review

Our People team analyzes your background against the structural needs of our opening. We look past generic bullet points to find authentic self awareness, deep reflectiveness, and a clear motivation for reversing the climate crisis. If there is an initial match, we will invite you to a 20-30 minute discovery call with our People team to map out mutual expectations.

Alignment & Culture-Add

The first stages of the process put a focus on exploring how we work together as a team. We discuss the realities of a fast paced, high trust startup environment, explore our shared frameworks and OpenOrg transparency principles, and learn more about how you collaborate, communicate, and contribute to healthy team dynamics.

Technical Review & Assessment

In the more advanced phases, you will meet directly with your hiring manager and other experts from our science, engineering, operations teams and more to unpack real world challenges. Depending on the track, this may involve a collaborative case study or a technical review designed to evaluate how you navigate complexity under uncertainty. Given application volume, detailed feedback can only be provided after the technical interview.

The Offer

We always present offers through a live conversation so there is space for transparency, questions, and discussion. Your offer package includes a comprehensive breakdown of compensation, growth trajectory, and expectations. Our goal is to provide the flexibility, autonomy, and trust needed to operate and execute at a global scale. All offers remain subject to reference checks.
